‘I Live Where the Poppies Dance’
There is something beautifully nostalgic about poppies — delicate yet resilient, fleeting yet unforgettable. They sway with the breeze, never fighting the direction it carries them, finding beauty simply in being where they are.
I Live Where the Poppies Dance is a reflection of a life I am learning to embrace — one filled with colour, freedom and the courage to move gently with change. Painted around the vessel, the poppies become fragments of memory, wrapping themselves around something that holds and carries them, much like the experiences we gather throughout our lives.
Created for Memoirs, this piece is a celebration of finding joy in the present while carrying the beauty of where we have been. Perhaps the most beautiful place to live is not a physical place at all, but somewhere within ourselves — where the poppies dance.
This original, one-of-a-kind, is approximately 23cm tall and wide. It’s signed, hard varnished for protection and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Currently exhibiting at Roses Est 1999, Semaphore as part of my ‘Memoirs’ SALA Exhibition.
