In this piece, the currents tell a story of transformation — a vivid dance between life and imbalance, to the point of struggle.
Inspired by the recent algae bloom along South Australia’s coastline, Tides of Change reflects both the beauty and the warning signs emerging beneath our waters. The swirling hues mirror the fragile pulse of our marine life along our coastlines — the jellyfish drifting through chaos, the sea’s voice rising in colour and movement, shouting their warning signs.
Through layers of acrylic paint, texture, collage and my own energy, I wanted to capture that moment where nature shifts — reminding us that the ocean breathes because of our choices. This work calls for awareness, protection, and respect for the delicate ecosystems that sustain us all.
